Airport transfers by personal car

Aalborg Airport (AAL) is conveniently located along Route 55/Thistedvej, with connections to Route 11, and European Routes 39 and 45. It takes around 15 minutes from the center of Aalborg to the airport by car.

The airport has more than 5000 free parking spaces, paid Direct Parking and even charging stations and units for your electric car or Tesla.

Airport transfers by rental car

There are multiple car rental companies, such as Hertz, Flizzr, Sixt, Budget, Avis, Alamo, Enterprise and Europcar, available for the traveler wanting to rent a car in Aalborg. Arriving at the airport terminal’s common area you will find signs leading you to your preferred rental car provider. While it is possible to walk up and rent a car from some of them, it is recommended to book your car in advance for the most number of options available. Some companies offer pick-up out of hours, but not all of them, so make sure you choose the right one for you.

When returning your rented vehicle follow the signs to the rental car par lot, park the car in the designated area, and collect your belongings before returning the keys as instructed. Several of the car rental companies offer drop-off services out of hours.

If you are being picked up or dropped off at the airport there is a designated “Kiss and Goodbye” area right outside the terminal’s main entrance.

Airport transfers by taxi

There are several different options for transfer by taxi. During the busy hours of the day there will be plenty of taxis waiting to take you to your desired destination, but during other hours it is wise to pre-book a taxi.

Airport transfers by bus

Buses run 7 days a week and round the clock to the airport. There are several different bus lines running between the airport and Aalborg. During the week they run every 10-15 minutes, and during weekends at least every 30 minutes.

For the late arrival or departure traveler there is a night bus for the same fee as the day time buses.

Airport transfer by train

There is no train station at Aalborg (Airport) AAL), however, it is possible to take a local bus to the nearest main train station in the town of Aalborg.
