The Terminal

Aalborg Airport has one single terminal servicing both international and domestic travelers departing from or arriving at the airport.

The terminal is divided into two levels with arrivals and check-in on the first level and the boarding area with the departure gates on the second level. The terminal has got a total of 11 gates (5 arrival and 6 departure) with the 5 arrival gates (gates 1-5) located in the middle with two separate baggage belts, one on each side of the terminal, Arrival Hall 1, and Arrival Hall 2.

Arrivals

Coming out from the arrival hall you’ll find yourself in a common terminal area where you can find the Aalborg Airport rental car companies, transport ticket machines, ATM's, toilets, travel agencies, a hairdresser, and more. You have several different choices on how to get from the airport to your destination, depending on where you are going.

If you want something small to eat there is a hot dog stand just outside the arrivals hall and there are vending machines where you can buy some snacks at all hours.

WiFi

For travelers looking to connect to the internet Aalborg Airport (AAL) has free Wi-Fi access in all areas of the airport. Simply choose “AALfree” in the Wi-Fi options and accept the terms and conditions and you are ready to go online. For troubleshooting please contact airport staff.

Currency Exchange

Whilst there is no information on if there is a currency exchange service at Aalborg Airport there are likely to be a few currency exchange machines in the arrivals hall. Please contact the airport directly on +45 98 17 11 44 for more information.

Smoking at the Airport

Please observe that smoking is not allowed inside the terminal, this includes e-cigarettes, so you will have to wait until you are outside the terminal entrances

Transfers from Aalborg Airport

• Rental cars: There are several rental car companies servicing Aalborg Airport (AAL) such as Hertz, Alamo, Avis, Sixt, Flizzr, Enterprise, Europcar and Budget. For a wider collection to choose from, the recommendation is to book your preferred vehicle with your car rental agency of choice before arriving at the airport, but walk-up rentals are available with some of them. Make sure to have all the required documents at hand before arriving. Please consult with your preferred rental car company for specifics.
• Buses: There are several different bus lines running between Aalborg and the airport. The bus stop is located 25 meters outside of the terminal’s main entrance, across the road. During the day there is a bus leaving towards Aalborg every 10-20 minutes, and there is even a night bus for the late arrivals.
• Taxis: During the busiest hours of the day there are usually a line of taxis waiting to take you to your destination, but outside of those hours it is wise to pre-book a taxi so you don’t have to wait. You can also opt for a limousine or use a car pool transfer, if that is what you prefer.
• Pick-up: The “Kiss and Goodbye” pick-up area is located right outside the main entrance.

Airport Hotels

For those arriving late in the evening there is the option of staying at the Aalborg Airport Hotel. The hotel is not only conveniently located only a very short walk from the terminal, but it also offers comfortable beds and serves a nice breakfast for the tired traveler.
