Flight Departures at Aalborg Airport

The Terminal

Aalborg Airport has one single terminal servicing both international and domestic travelers departing from or arriving at the airport.

The terminal is divided into two levels with arrivals, check-in and security on the first level and the boarding area and the departure gates on the second level.

When you enter the terminal, before going through security, you can find rental car representatives, ATM's, travel agencies, transportation ticket machines, a hairdresser, information counter, lost and found, a hot dog stand, vending machines and toilets.

Departures

The seven check-in desks and the bag-drop area are found just opposite the main entrance, with the airport security control located just to the right of them, including a security fast track. Once through security you will find the duty free shop, food areas such as Deli and Heineken Gastro Pub, quick snack bars, as well as shops.

The Aalborg Airport terminal has a total of 11 gates (5 arrival and 6 departure) with the departure gates located on the second level, where gates 6-7 can be found to the left, gates 8-9 in the middle, and gates 10-11 to the right.

For those travelling with children there is a playground area where the children can play with the airport’s assortment of toys, try out the climbing frame, or even watch cartoons while waiting to board your flight.

VIP Lounge

The VIP Lounge area, located on the first level, once through security, opens 75 minutes before the first departure and stays open until 30 minutes before the last departure.

WiFi

For travelers looking to connect to the internet Aalborg Airport (AAL) has free WiFi access in all areas of the airport. Simply choose “AALfree” in the Wi-Fi options and accept the terms and conditions and you are ready to go online. For troubleshooting please contact airport staff.

Transfers

• Personal car: For any travelers arriving in a personal car, the airport has more than 5000 free parking spaces just outside the terminal, as well as paid Direct Parking, and charging stations for electric cars.
• Rental cars: If you have a rental car please park your car following the signs to the rental car park area, and your specific dealer, remember to collect your belongings before locking the car. Follow the instructions given to you by your rental car company on where to dispose of the keys to your rented vehicle
• Buses: If you plan on arriving by bus the bus stop is located right outside the terminal. There are 4 different bus lines running to and from Aalborg, as well as a night bus.
• Taxis: The taxi rank is located just outside the airport main entrance.
• Drop-off: The “Kiss and Goodbye” drop-off area is located right outside the main entrance.

Aalborg Airport Hotel

For those with an early morning flight, the hotel located next door, the Aalborg Airport Hotel offers comfortable rooms and a daily breakfast buffet with early serving.

Check-in

Please observe that check-in times before scheduled flight varies depending on whether your flight is a domestic or an international flight, and also which airline you are flying with. Make sure to be on time.

Online check-in is available for most airlines, as are machine check-ins at the airport.

Smoking at the Airport

Please be advised that there is no smoking allowed in the terminal, so if you want to smoke before your departure, please do so before going through security. This includes e-cigarettes.
